Giving Tuesday

A Global Giving Movement

GivingTuesday is a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration.

Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving (in the U.S.) and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving.

One of the best ways to get involved is in your own community. We’ve created a directory to help you find organizations, charities, events and more in your own community.

FAQ’s

We are allocating all money raised for this #CrusadersGiving Tuesday Marathon campaign towards Tech & Turf. The Mater Dei campus is in need of upgrading its technology infrastructure including bandwidth, access points, charging stations, power outlets, extended battery modules (EBM), security cameras in our parking lot and projectors for classrooms. Funds will also be used to replace our stadium turf used for soccer, football and lacrosse. Our goal is to raise $100,000.

In the past, we have organized a fundraiser to get students and families involved during the March timeframe. For the past couple years, it was called the Color Walk/Walk-A-Thon and our community reach was limited.

This year, we decided to tap into the Giving Tuesday global giving movement which promotes philanthropy and brings communities together to support a common goal around Thanksgiving time. We have much to be grateful for at Mater Dei. Our student body is growing, our students are thriving and the product of our education including academic programs, personal attention, quality teaching, wellness, faith and safety is soaring.
